Humayu's tomb
Humayu's tomb, known as Haji Begum, was started by his widow wife Hamida Banu Begum after 9 years in 1565. Humayun's tomb was completed in 1572. Mirak Mirza Ghyasuddin, a Persian architect Beg was employed by Haji Begum to construct this mausoleum.
Those who were specifically called from the city of Herat, Afghanistan. During the construction of the mausoleum, Mirak Mirza Ghyasuddin ji died some time later due to his son Sayyid.
The construction of the mausoleum was finished by Mubarak Ibne Mirak Ghiyasuddin. This building is an example of the first Mughal style in India. Which was inspired by Islamic architecture. The same charbagh style was used in Humayun's tomb which would be used in future by the Taj Mahal and others Also seen in buildings.
Humayu's tomb is built on 12,000 square meters, which is 47 meters in height. At that time it took nearly 1.5 million rupees to build this tomb.
Apart from Humayun's tomb in this tomb, his Begum Hamida Bano and later emperors The tombs of Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Shah Jahan and several successors Mughal emperors Jahandar Shah, Farrukhshiar, Rafi ul-Damait, Rafi ud-Daulat and Alamgir II, etc. are located. Hence it is also known as Mughal ka graveyard.
The Humayun's tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993 for being attractive.
