This gurudwara is seen as a very impressive structure from the summit with its golden dome and due to this dome it can be seen from far away and this gurudwara is famous for being associated with Guru Harkishan, the 8th Guru of the Sikhs. 



It was built by Sikh General Baghel Singh in 1783 as a small temple. He also opposed the Khilafat of Alam Shah II during the time of the Mughal Empire to look after the 9 Sikh temples built in Delhi at the same time.

This Gurudwara was a bungalow belonging to Maharaja Jai ​​Singh of Jaipur. Guru Har Kishan Singh, the eighth Guru of the Sikhs, lived here during his stay in Delhi. At that time, diseases of smallpox and cholera were widespread. Guru Maharaj had provided water and other facilities from his residence to the patients of those insurers. It is now considered a health enhancer, health enhancer and sacred and is carried by Sikhs around the world. This gurudwara is now a sacred shrine for Sikhs and Hindus.

This gurudwara is also famous for its pond called 'Sarovar' whose water is called 'Amrit' (holy water) by the members of the Sikh community.

Visitors are asked to come to the gurudwara to cover their heads and not wear shoes. Guides are also available to help the visitors from abroad, who help people without taking any money. Outside the gurudwara, there is always an arrangement of clothes to tie the clothes on the head, people can also use it to cover their head. The volunteers continue to serve the devotees day and night and give their participation in keeping the gurdwara clean. A Yatri Niwas has also been built for those coming from outside.

This gurudwara is open 24 hours a day all week.
