Hans Christian Gram discovered the bacteria under the microscope, he was born on 13 September 1853 in Copenhagen. Speaking of Hans Christian Gram 's education, he obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1878. He then went on to do research on bacteriology and pharmacology in Europe. After his 5 years of research there, he discovered Grahame Stein. He died on 14 November 1938 (age 85 years).
